Spellbinders March 14th 2018 Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop in the Spellbinders Blog Hop! We are celebrating the release of four gorgeous collections: Classics, On the Wings of Love by Joanne Fink, Good Vibes Only by Stephanie Low, and Sew Sweet by Tammy Tutterow. If you’ve been hopping along, you may have arrived here from Erum’s blog, but if you need a map of where you are, you can find a full list of the blog hop at the end of this post.

I am sharing a project featuring the Shapeabilities Leaves So Very Generous Etched Dies from the Good Vibes Only by Stephanie Low collection. This entire collection is absolutely stunning! I just looove this entire collection and so thrilled to work with her designs. I gravitated to these leaves because they give such beautiful movement.  Because the dies comes in a pair, an outline cut, and the detailed cut, it is perfect for creating strong underlayer to shine through the dies.

So, I was pretty excited to bring out the alcohol inks for the first time to play! I knew how strong and colorful alcohol ink colors can be so I thought it would be the perfect time to bring them out. I used Turqouise, Citrus, Patina, and Limeade alcohol inks, as well as the blending solution, on yupo paper, and set it aside to dry.

I die cut the outline die out of an A2-sized white card stock twice, from the top and from the bottom. This will be my top cover. I also die cut the detailed image out of white card stock twice that I used to inlay into the windows. I adhered the top cover over the alcohol ink background with foam tape. Then with the leaves, I gently curved the edges and adhered the leaves at its spine.

Finally I heat embossed ‘thank you’ from the MFT From the Heart stamp set three times onto Enchanted Evening card stock and trimmed it to 3 little strips. I adhered those in the center over foam tape. And finally I added a few drops of Nuvo Midnight Blue Gloss. These dies are SO beautiful, don’t you agree?
