Hi there! Welcome to my stop in the Altenew 4th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 2! If you’ve been hopping along with us, you would have arrived here from Agnieszka’s blog, however if you’re joining us just now, you’ll find the full list of blog hop participants at the bottom of this post. Let us celebrate!
Happy birthday to Altenew! I am so thrilled to be partaking in this celebration of one of the most amazing stamp companies out there. Altenew has grown so much over the past 4 years and shared with us so many gorgeous stamps, dies, inks, and so much more. I am always so excited to see what they come up with next. I find a new favorite every year, and one of the ones I completely fell in love with is the Frosted Garden set, so it was no question that I neede to bring it out for today’s card.
The images of this set has some beautiful details, but I decided to use it on a more “loose” imagery by applying some wet stamping. However, I still wanted to retain some of the details, so I varied how much water I added to the stamping. I inked up my stamps with some distress markers, added a spritz or two of water before stamping it down onto watercolor paper.
I used slightly less water on the leaves so that I can keep some more details on them. And using the markers allowed me to easily to distinguise the coloring of the leaves/stems and flowers, as the flowers are usually one stamp altogether. I also picked up some matching watercolors to add some more vivid colorings in the flowers and leaves. I then used it to add splatter.
I paired the beautiful floral background with a sentiment from the Everything About You stamp set. The painted strokes match so well! I heat embossed the large ‘I LOVE’ in gold directly onto the background, and the second line of the sentiment on a light pink card stock also in gold. I trimmed the second part to a thin strip and adhered it over foam tape.
I also gently blended Tattered Rose distress oxide ink to the edges of the background. It helped mute the edges a bit, to give a soft look. The whole thing was also adhered over craft foam with a In the Buff card stock base.
Thanks for dropping by and head on over to our next blog hopper, Terhi!
