Happy hump day! Time for a new MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! I love joining in on these challenges, and only wish I had more time to do it more often. It really pushes me to think outside of my comfort zone and usually comes out beautifully, which is why I enjoy is so so much. This week’s challenge features a pretty simple layout, one that I think would look beautifully even vertically.
I decided to stick to the layout of the sketch, as closely as I could. I like to dig into my stash and look for stamps I have not used as much or haven’t seen in a long while, and as I was browsing I found my Beautiful Butterflies and thought it would be perfect to create a lovely stamped background.
I stamped my butterflies in Blue Breeze, Grapesicle, Bubblegum, and Natural premium dye inks. Then I die cut my stamped panel with Stitched Scallop Basic Edges, and adhered it over a coordinating pattern paper from Proper Prinstripes Pastels Paper Pack.
I cut two thin strips of Natural card stock with my paper trimmer to match the same patterns in the sketch. And for my sentiment I die cut the words Hugs from Twice the Hugs Die-namics a total of 3 times, with the top layer gently blended with Bubblegum dye ink.
The softness of the card really makes the ‘hugs’ feel very comforting. I love how it turned out. Hope you join us in this week’s sketch challenge! Participate and be eligible for the $50 MFT Cash prize!
