My Favorite Things

MFT November Release Replay

Hello there! It’s time for this month’s My Favorite Things post of Release Replay! This month with packed full of cute and adorable critters, and there was one super adorable set that didn’t quite make it into my release posts that I wanted to incorporate in my project today. This set is called Friends in the Forest and features 4 adorable animals and various solid stamp trees.

I also wanted to use some of the smaller sized die cuts from our Die-namics Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX. I don’t know about you, but I feel like the little ones get neglected more often than not! I do love the mod shape, which adds a little special look to a card. When I created this layout, I was thinking about a pinwheel.  I drew some pencil lines across the center of each plane and then approximate the line up of my dies thereafter. Once I have those pieces die cut out, I blended Cracked Pistachio and Broken China distress oxide inks on each one. I also added a bit of splatter with the same ink.

I stamped all my images in Chocolate Brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. Then, I die cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics. I also stamped various foliage from the set in Grapesicle dye ink and die cut them out with the coordinating dies as well. It’s such a pretty, soft purple!

I heat embossed my sentiment from the stamp set with Versamark ink and silver detail embossing powder. It fit right perfectly in the little mod rectangle.

And finally, I can start assembling the whole card. I used my outer frame as a guide to adhere all the various backgrounds directly onto the base card. Once that was done, I adhered the trees next. And finally, the frame and critters with foam tape. All finished!

Be sure to check out more projects from participating design team members listed on the MFT blog!

Cheers,

This is adorable! I love the look with the smaller Mod Stax as windows — great way to add action to a card, with all the little scene.
