MFT February Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to the My Favorite Things February Countdown Day 3! Today’s musical guest stars from the Jungle Vibes band will rock your boat! As someone who’s grown up with so much music in her life, I love it when I see musical-themed products, so you betcha I was super excited to see this new darling set and a Musical Notes background stamp in this month’s release.

We all love these cute critters, but when you get a theme going, it makes it so much more fun. These jungle animals are all musicians! My favorite is the monkey with maracas! I stamped all the images in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink and onto copic friendly white card stock, and then colored them up with my copic markers. Once that was done, I die cut all the individual images with the coordinating Die-namics.

I’m imaging a really exciting party here! So, I wanted to get colorful. I blended four different colors, in each corner: Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, and Blueprint Sketch distres oxides. I then used the same inks to add splatter with them. Then, I heat embossed the music notes with the Muscal Notes Background stamp in white onto my background. Of course, knowing that embossing does resist ink, you can definitely switch those steps around, but as the results are pretty much the same, I find it easier to just emboss after the inking.

As I was laying out all my pieces, it actually took me awhile to figure out where to put my sentiment. I didn’t quite think that far when I started. But, I found the short sentiment ‘Keep on Rockin’ just perfect to place right under the elephant and monkey. I heat embossed it in dark brown embossing powder onto Natural cardstock and die cut it out with a fishtail banner.

The background trees are adhered directly to the background, but everything else was adhered with foam tape. What a fun card!

Be sure to visit the MFT Blog every day during the countdown for more release content and projects from participating design team members. All release product will be available Tuesday, February 6 at 9pm EST in the MFT Store.
