My Favorite Things

MFT November Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome back to the My Favorite Things November Release Countdown! Today, we’re introducing Birdie Brown’s newest illustrated set called Ready, Set, Snow. I love this set! Not just because it’s cute (because of course it’s absolutely adorable), but because I love to snowboard! Unfortunately, snowboarding does take require a lot of resilience in my knees and I just don’t have the same strength (and courage!) as I did when I was younger. It’s also been a long time since I had the opportunity to snowboard given that I live in Southern California and snow is a far drive away!

Well, I’m sure you’re here to listen to me rant about snowboarding, so let’s take a detailed look of my card today! I stamped all my images from the stamp set in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink. Then, I colored the images with copic markers and used my white gel pen for highlighting and details. Next, I die cut all the images out with the coordinating dies.

I decided to pair the images with one of my all-time favorite cover-ups called Die-namics Horizontal Snow Drifts Cover-Up. I love the vertical version of it just as much! I die cut the entire panel over white card stock, and then with each inner strip, I blended it with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink. The 2nd to bottom strip was also heat embossed with the sentiment ‘ready, set, snow!’ in silver. Then I inlaid each strip back into the frame.

Since I didn’t want to inlaid pieces to fall apart, I adhered it down to my base card first. Then, I added all the various images to my background either with liquid adhesive and foam squares.

Such an adorable stamp set! I especially love the cute little penguin. Hopefully this winter, I’ll get to make trip to Lake Tahoe for a day on the bunny slopes!

Hope you enjoyed the products featured in today’s post and be sure to also check out the MFT Blog for more inspirations from participating designers and other products introduced today!
