Today I have a project featuring a stamp set called The Key Stamp Set found in the latest Stamp of Approval (“SOA”) release from Catherine Pooler. As this is time on my blog to post a project with Catherone Pooler products, and if you’re not familiar with the brand, you can find more details about the SOA box sets here.
What I was most interested about Catherine Pooler products is their inks. I have heard from so many crafters how amazing and easy their inks are to blend with, and well, as most of you, I ink blend on almost all my projects! So it seems almost silly that I have waited this long to try them, and given the opportunity now, I can confirm, they are indeed very easy to blend with.
However, and hopefully you can see from the photos, the ink blending does not produce the same results as distress oxides, in that there’s a bit of grainy texture to it while oxides provide a very smooth look after drying. So I wouldn’t necessarily consider them replacements, but rather see them as another option for a different look and different color choices.
So back to the main subject! The background was ink blended with Suede Shoes, It’s a Boy, Mint To Be, and Tiara ink pads, and the splatter also was done using the Suede Shoes ink. I then die cut the blended panel with large A2 stiched frame, and then heat embossed several of the images in The Key stamp set in white.
I had stamped a few more images in my dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. I fussy cut the images out and added it to the card with foam tape. The sentiment was stamp at the bottom center of the card right below the images.
The SOA products are exclusive to the box set and are not available separately. This exclusive content is released on a quarterly basis. Catherine Pooler also has a whole line of other products so be sure to check her out!
Beautiful card! Love the lock and keys!
