I have seen some really incredible and well made interactive cards by many of you, and although I admire them, I have always been intimidated to engineer one of them. But, thankfully the Mama Elephant Wiper Surprise made it all so easy for me, and I’m excited share what I did with it!
I brought out the Whale Wishes set to create a scene with the Wiper Surprise dies. I thought these whales were perfect to pop out of the waves with. So, I started off by creating two ink blended panels by using stencils that I created with the Ocean Waves Trio CC. I like to create my own stencils with dies I already own by die cutting the pattern onto Grafix Stencil Film (the blue sheets in the center).
Each panel was then die cut with the Wiper Surprise CC. The side with the scoring should be on the right side for the back panel, and the left side for the front panel. The front panel was then die cut with the Ocean Waves Trio CC.
Then, I die cut the interactive piece and ink blended the same color as my waves so that it won’t be so visible. I stamped and die cut several of the whales from Whale Wishes, and picked the whale jumping out of the water to be on the interactive piece. I used acetate to further give it an extra lift!
I stamped the large sentiment from Whale Wishes directly onto the background. Then, I assembled the interactive card by adding adhesive the designated areas. Once that was done, I finally added all the remaining whales to the scene.
How fun is it that the whale emerges out of the wave? After I finished thecard, I just kept playing with it. Interactive dies are perfect from recreating with our sets and bringing them back to life!
Hope this sends some fun inspiration your way. If I can make this, you definitely can too!
