Have you seen the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month? The Large Die of the Month, along with their other monthly clubs, release on the first of each month. I had some time to play with this month’s Large Die of the Month, which comes with this gorgeous multilayer butterfly die cut, many little floral and foliage pieces, and a large sentiment ‘bonjour’.
I put most of my efforts into the butterfly as I had wanted to make it magnificent! For the bottom layer, I created my own glitter paper. I first ink blended a piece of white card stock with Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac distress oxide inks. Then, I added a thin layer of Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste with a spatula. I let it sit dry for a few hours before I die cut it out.
The second layer of the butterfly was die cut out with white card stock. The third layer was also out of white card stock, however I covered it with Versamark ink and heat embossed the entire side in silver embossing powder. The second and third layers were glued together and then I folded it right at the wings.
The folded wings were added to the glittery bottom layer right at the abdomen with strong adhesive. The rest of the card was kept simple with an ink blended and generously splattered background and a heat embossed sentiment from ME Heartfelt Wishes in the opposite corner in silver. It’s so sparkly and beautiful, it’s hard to keep your eyes off of it especially in the sunlight!
So pretty! I love the butterfly!!
