My Favorite Things

MFT March Release Countdown Day 2

We’re now on countdown day 2 of the My Favorite Things March Release! We’re getting closer! Today’s feature set in my card is one that I was very excited about, called Painted Petals. I am a huge fan of abstract, loosely drawn/painted florals and this set definitely fits the mold of what I love!

I went for the large floral images immediately. These are layered stamps, so I brought out my dye inks: Tickled Pink, Cotton Candy, and Ripe Raspberry. I like to use a mini sponge dauber to help me apply some ombre inking to the images to get some additional interest in the stamped image. These were die cut with the coordinating Die-namics.

I then went back and heat embossed the center of the images and the leaves in gold. The leaves were also die cut and then colored with some copic markers.

I contrasted the flowers against a blue ombre ink background. I wanted the sentiment to match that flowy whimsical look so I used a birthday sentiment from one of my favorite sets called Handwritten Happiness. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold as well.

I used the A2 Rectangle Frames, similar to yesterday, because I love these frames! I backed the framed ink blended center against a Cement Gray background. The flowers were arranged towards the bottom, and I finished up the card with a few clear drops.

Hope you enjoyed the products featured in today’s post and be sure to also check out the MFT Blog for more inspirations from participating designers and other products introduced today!
