Waffle Flower

Waffle Flower Have a Ball! Birthday

Calling all baseball fans! The Waffle Flower Batter may be one of my all-time favorite sets from illustrator Kamo, and I love all her sets! I’m not a huge baseball fan, but I know many friends and family that are, which makes this a perfect set to have for creating the cards I send to them.

Can you tell what teams I based my card on? My two neighbor baseball teams are Los Angeles Dodgers and the Anaheim Angels and the rivalry of these two teams have inspired my card today. The images from the Batter set were stamped in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored with copic markers, and die cut with matching dies.

My background scene was created entirely by ink blending and with some simple masking with post-it tape. I started by masking off a diamond area for the field and ink blended with Mowed Lawn distress oxide. Then I masked off the field, and used a stripe stencil and ink blending to create the corner design, again matching the baseball team colors!

I heat embossed the sentiment from the set in white in the top, added a little baseball hat above it. And lastly, I added all my players to the card with foam squares to complete the ball game!
