I’m on the Tonic Studios blog (and here) to share my very first post as part of the Tonic Studio Social Media Team! I have been a fan since I owned my first Nuvo drop product about two years ago, and I have continued to enjoy not only their embellishment products, but also their many crafty tools. I’m excited to be able to try out more of their many line of products to share with you inspiration and my experiences with them. Today we’ll be checking out the Nuvo mousse!
I have worked with the glimmer paste in the past, but the mousse was new to me and I even checked out Youtube to see the various ways to use the the product. I decided to try out the mousse over stencil today and it was very easy to spread over the stencil using a palette knife and I got a smooth pattern after lifting the stencil. I set it aside to dry overnight, and went about working on my next step.
I stamped several flowers and leaves from the Perfect Petunia stamp set in Black Shadow ink. Then, I colored the images with alcohol markers and added some light highlighting with a white gel pen. I fussy cut each individual image out.
Next, I die cut the word ‘enjoy’ using Will’s Hand Enjoy Die Set. The outline is die cut out of black card stock, and the inside word was die cut out of platinum card stock from the Moonlight Rose 6×6 Card Pack.
I arranged the flowers in the center of the card and adhered it down with foam tape to give it dimension. Then, I added the ‘enjoy’ on top of it with foam tape as well. As a final touch to the card, I added some paint splatter with my watercolors. I love how cleanly the Nuvo mousse holds the pattern of the stencil and how it shines in the light!
