Peonies are my FAVORITE flowers! I am more than happy to own every peony stamp set out there because I love them so much! And wow, Mama Elephant illustrated a gorgeous one in this stamp set called Peonies in Bloom.
For my favorite flowers, I had to use my favorite color, lilac! Okay, I lie, my favorite color is actually a dusty rose, but lilac is a close second and I wanted to be a little different today! I heat embossed these flowers and leaves in gold first, and then copic colored them. Then I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to die cut the images out.
Next, I die cut the frame from Framed Tags – Artist Mat out of kraft card stock. I die cut it out first so that I can use it to get an idea where I needed to mask my background piece for the ink blending such that I can keep the edges white. I also used it to identify where to place my sentiment which I stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold.
I like to assemble my bouquet separately first before adding it to the card and I did that while adding tape in the back to hold it together. Once I was set, I moved the entire piece onto the card and secured it with foam tape. I added a few leaves falling/floating away from the bouquet and added them with foam tape as well.
Gold embossing is so pretty and elegant! It makes my card look extra special and expensive and I love it! I’ll be around for more Mama Elephant May product inspirations next week. Hope to see you back soon!
