Waffle Flower June 2019 New Release Blog Hop + Giveaways

Get excited cause it’s time for the Waffle Flower June 2019 New Release Blog Hop! This release is fantastic and covers a variety of themes. Today I’ll be sharing the details of two of my many projects this month starting with this adorable new set from Big Bear & Bird called Plant Kindness.

Oh my, my jaw dropped when I first saw this set! It is so, so adorable, and I always enjoy spending the time to color a large image. My image was stamped in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored with copic markers. There is no coordinating die for this mini set so the image was fussy cut.

I created an ink blended that background that imitated the coloring of the turqouise/pink succent. Using my stamp positioner, I stamped the sentiment from this set directly onto the background and again with the image in position so that I can have the sentiment cross over the image.

I then completed the card with some borders I die cut out of kraft using the Scenery Die. I use this die so much!

My next project is not a card, but a really cool gift card package using JJ Bolton’s Coffee Cup combo. This is such a cool die set! I am an almost daily Starbucks drinker so it was almost automatic for me to recreate one using the set. I die cut everything out of white card stock first and assembled all the pieces together.

Next, I used some green dye ink and the Coffee Cup Sentiments set to design this cup. The other side felt a bit to clean for me, even though that’s exactly what a Starbucks cup looks like, but I’ve seen many artists that draw on their Starbucks with a black pen with these intricate designs. So rather than draw it, I used the Peony Notes stamp set to create that black pen illustrative look. I stamped this image on the outside and inside of the gift card package.

Aside from adding in a gift card in the center insert of the package, I also used a black sharpie to write the recipient’s name and checked off one of the boxes, just like I’d expect my barista to do when they take my order! Isn’t it a cute?

The Waffle Flower June 2019 release includes 9 new stamp sets and 7 dies, which means there’s more projects I’d like to share with you later featuring the Peony Notes and the P-aar-ty Time sets. How about some sneak peeks below?
