My Favorite Things

MFT June Release Countdown Day 2

We continue the My Favorite Things June Release Countdown and today I’m sharing a project with a new sentiment stamp and die and an adorable new animal die additon, a puppy!

The puppy was die cut out of either white card stock or kraft card stock. On each piece I did a light amount of ink blending just to give it a little extra dimension and used a white gel pen to add highlights. The nose, mouth, and eyes were colored with copic markers as I generally find it easier to just color them than to find the individual color card stock to die cut each item.

I also die cut a balloon using the Birthday Balloons Die-namics out of Blu Raspberry card stock and white card stock for the puppy to hold. I assembled the piece first with liquid adhesive and set it aside to work on the layout of the card.

I pulled out a pattern paper from the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack and die cut it using the largest rectangle out of the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2. Then I die cut several little stars out of Gold Sparkle Card Stock using the small star die from the LLD Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. There are other dies that have small stars too that you can use, but this was the first one I found in my stash.

The word hello is die cut using the Sweet Hello Die-namics. The inside used Cornflower card stock and the outside is just white card stock. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the Well, Hello Stamp Set onto a piece of white cardstock that I quickly colored with my copic markers to match the puppy’s eyes. This was trimmed down to a thin strip and added below the ‘hello’ with foam tape.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this, but I use my dog Kody as the inspiration of all my pup themed cards! We adopted him over 2 years ago and we believe he is mixed with husky, american staffordshire, and cattle dog. He is besides me every second that I am crafting and taking pictures!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to also check out the MFT blog for more product reveals!
