This month Mama Elephant brings us a brand new interactive die called Turner Surprise and a corresponding cute stamp set called Circle of Friends. I don’t know about you, but inteactive cards always feel complicated and scary! But every once in a while, one appears in front of me and although I try to resist, I eventually start to build it together and realize, hey that was easy! The Turner Surprise die was definitely one of those cases and I found myself sliding its mechanism over and over in amazement of how cool it turned out!
This is the card in its full open position that we’re going to hide behind the blue scallop circle. The images are from Circle of Friends, stamped in a dark brown hybrid ink, colored with copci markers, and then die cut out using the Turner Surprise CC.
The cover panel was die cut out of a light blue card stock and on it I heat embossed the words ‘surprise inside’ and ‘spin me around’ in white. These sentiments were from the Circle of Friends set as well. I assembled the turner surprise together (see Mama Elephant Youtube for video instructions), and now as I turn the knob, all my critter friends start to appear!
Pretty cool right? I kept opening and closing it for quite some time after I finished it. For the remainder of the card, I simply ink blended some clouds with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink and below it added a sentiment from Marine Friends and a few little agenda friends beside it. This interactive feature will surely bring a smile to anyone opening it!
This is so cute! I love the colors you used — they’re so soft and fun. Having the little cat and bunny floating at the bottom is such a fun touch.
Thanks so much! I love a soft palette. Glad you like it!
This looks like a really fun one! Normally interactive make me nervous, but I think this one might be worth the effort!
