I can’t believe it’s already August! Summer is flying by so fast and it has been so crazy hot here in Southern California that I have been hibernating in my craft room organizing and cranking out lots of projects this month. I have a lot in store for you and I’m excited to begin sharing, starting with the My Favorite Things August Release countdown today!
I love the products this month! For my first card for this release, I am showcasing the new Carousel Horses set paired with the Carousel Die-namics. All images were stamped in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink, then colored with copic markers, and die cut with their matching dies.
I just love this Carousel Die-namics. It set the stage for this card and I used the dies with just white card stock and gold shine card stock. I also die cut the tent piece out of masking paper to create the masks needed to allow me to ink blend those stripes. It was very easy to do with the embossed lines there as guides.
The background was ink blended with Broken China and Antique Linen distress oxide inks. I added some white paint splatter and also used the Card-Sized Star Confetti Stencil Set to ink blend some soft stars into the background with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.
I assembled it all together with lots of foam tape and it adds a beautiful dimension to the card. The sentiment is from the Carousel Horses stamp set and heat embossed in silver onto white card stock, and then die cut with the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. This was added to the top left corner.
I really love all the new products used on today’s card and I hope enjoyed the inspiration of using them together to create such a fun scene! For more inspirations and details of other products showcased in today’s countdown, be sure to head on over to the MFT blog.
