Are excited to start seeing full reveals of The Greetery August Release? I’m excited to start sharing them with you too! Fall is my favorite season to craft (yes, more than Winter!) because I love all the earthy color schemes I get to work with. Not to mention Fall is just such a color season to begin with!
I adored the Summer Sketches set released in June and love the Fall Sketches from this month’s release just as much! The versatility of using this set for coloring in any medium makes it such a fun set to work with. Last time I used the Summer Sketches with copic markers, and this time I decided to use the solid stamps to do some ombre stamping and heat embossing.
I used a variation of inks with green, yellow, orange, and purple colors (Full list of inks used listed below). I like to start with the lightest color first and then layer on the colors by using a mini dauber tool to apply additional inks to the stamps. Once the leaves were done, I then heat embossed the lined image in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in gold. The images were die cut out with their matching dies.
The background was ink blended with Aged Mahogany, Dried Marigold, and Tea Dye distress oxide inks. Some paint splatter with my watercolors were used for added interest. Then, I heat embossed the ‘thanks’ in gold and stamped the ‘for being you!’ right below it. The ‘thanks’ is from the Bountiful Wreath stamp set and ‘for being you’ is from the Sentiment Suite: Thank You stamp set. (These sets will be showcased in the following days.)
The final step is to add the die cut leaves to the card with foam tape. I trimmed off any area hanging off the edge and mounted my panel on to an vertical top fold A2 sized white card base.
My next card showcases a couple new products. The beautiful image of a cotton stem is from the new set called Cotton Comforts, and the frame used around it is with a new die called Halfsies Oval. The cotton stem is a layered stamped image and I have used Rocky Shore and Mocha dye inks for the branch and Morning Frost, Evening Gray, and Sand Dunes for the cotton balls.
The background is ink blended with Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire and Old Paper distress oxide inks. I die cut the Halfies Oval out of Natural card stock twice to get a full frame. I used a striped stencil to gently blend some same ink I used on the background onto the edge for interest.
Both the frame and cotton stem were mounted onto the background with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in the same brown and then heat embossed the second part of the sentiment onto kraft card stock and trimmed it down. The sentiment was added with foam tape around the top left. That completes my cards for today!
I’ll be back tomorrow! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by The Greetery blog and the inspiration team designers below for more inspiration!
