Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Penguin’s Waddle

As your Mama Elephant orders are on its way to your door step, the next couple of weeks of Stamp Highlights starting today will hopefully provide you tons of inspiration with your new goodies. I’m excited to share with you the first of many projections and today I will be highlighting the Penguin’s Waddle set!

The penguin theme is strong is this month’s Mama Elephant release and I love it! Penguins are such cute animals, and they are also so versatile all year long. I stamped the large image with a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. I started by coloring the black and white penguins first, and thought it would be fun to make all the accessories rainbow! It was so fun to color this.

I kept the rainbow theme going as I continued to build out the rest of the card. I was happy to find this cute rainbow polka dot pattern paper from a retired MFT paper pack. For the sentiment, I die cut the word ‘HUGS’ from the Tri Window Cover in red, blue, green, and yellow card stock. I alternated the colors that were layered so you get a really cool top layer and profile as well.

The second part of the sentiment is from the Sending Hugs stamp set. I stamped this sentiment in Versamark ink onto a light purple card stock and covered it with white fine embossing powder. I then heat set it with a heat gun and trimmed it down to a thin strip. I added it just below the die cut ‘HUGS’.

Aside from ending up with a ton of copic markers on my desk after coloring, this project was rather mess free since I didn’t do any ink blending! The end result is so adorable and I would hope that it brings a big smile to the recipient when they pull it out of the envelope.
