Hey there! I’m so thrilled that the Little Penguin Agenda is the newest set in this series and just cannot get enough of them. I feel like I waited years to see these penguins added! I had long loved the Arctic Penguins (one of my first Mama Elephant stamp sets!) and knew they would knock this one out of the park. My project today features these little penguins inside the Ornate House creative cuts.
I stamped a lot of penguins! They were all stamped in dark brown hybrid ink and colored with copic markers. Then, the images were die cut using their coordinating dies. I selected the winter themed ones for this holiday card.
I wanted to create a gingerbread like house so I die cut the Ornate House out of kraft card stock. Then, I used nuvo drops to add a pseudo string of lights across the house, much like how we use gum drops to decorate a gingerbread house!
On a separate piece of white card stock, I used my house die cut piece to add some pencil marks of where the frames were so that I can mask off areas with my post it tape for ink blending and coloring. The area above the house was ink blended with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress oxide inks and generously splattered with white acrylic paint.
Within each of the squares, I used my copic markers to color in a background. I found this much easier than trying to ink blend each tiny square. Within the thin long rectangle, I heat embossed a sentiment in white from Holiday Messages.
The scene is now set (and make those nuvo drops dried!), and now I can add all my penguins to the card. I added them into the squares with foam tape and also popped a few up on the roof. Aren’t they adorable?
