Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Snow Angels

We have not one, but two adorable sets illustrated by Aida Zamora this month, and this second set is called Snow Angels. This set features several adorable critters making snow angels! I can create the sweetest winter snow scenes and the new sentiment set called Written in the Snow compliments it perfectly.

I stamped the fox and bunny images from the Snow Angels stamp set in dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. I then used the coordinating dies to die cut the images out.

Before we stamp in the snow angels, I stamped the large sentiment from Written in the Snow first to give myself a good idea of the spacing leftover. I stamped it directly onto a piece of white card stock in Broken China distress oxide ink. Now I can stamp the snow angel images to the right of it in the same ink.

Next, I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink to gently blend the around the outside of the background panel. To add to the frosty look, I used the small snowflake images from the Village stamp set and heat embossed it around the edges in white.

I wanted the second part of the sentiment to be on color card stock, but since I didn’t have one that matched my coloring on the critters, I used my copic markers to color a small area of white card stock, heat embossed my sentiment in white on top of it, and trimmed it down to a thin strip. I added the sentiment right below the snowy script. The critters were then added last when foam squares.
