It’s Waffle Flower October Release Day! Annnnnd Happy World Cardmaking Day! What better way to celebrate all the excitement than a blog hop with the team and friends! I have tons of projects to share with you featuring the Waffle Flower October Release. Shall we get started?
Last month we introduced the amazing illustrator Cassie Loizeaux and her inaugural stamp set Flower Girl was so great! This month she has two new sets for us! I am featuring one of her new sets called Fall Greetings in this first card and I absolutely love it so much! All images including the sentiment showcased here is from that set and I have colored it with copic markers.
I kept the layout of this card simple and used the A7 Layers Die to create this frame in the center that I have gently ink blended with Tea Dye distress oxide ink and splattered with watercolor paint. The background was ink blended with Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade and Tea Dye distress oxide inks.
This next card features the A Little Note set illustrated by Karla Jodoin. It is a a small 3×4 stamp set with these beautiful flowers and simple sentiment. I used the floral image twice on this card and have colored it with copic markers and added some detailed shading with color pencils.
The background was ink blended with Victorian Velvet distress oxide inks and a thin strip of gold glitter card stock was added to anchor the floral images. I stamped the sentiment directly to the center of the card.
This next card uses two fabulous new sets in this month’s release. The floral background was created with the Peony Bouquet set also illustrated by Karla Jodoin. It is a very detailed image so it works beautifully as an outline image which I have used to fill up the background. I have also stamped a few leaves on white card stock which I have die cut out to embellish the sentiment.
The sentiment is the Oversized Thank You. I really like these large sentiment die cuts because it is a strong focal point! I have die cut the word out of white card stock four times, layered them together, and added a second piece of the sentiment ‘for a great year’ which I have heat embossed in white on kraft card stock just beneath it.
For my last card, I have created a project with the Ni Hao set by Kamo. I love all of Kamo’s set, and as she continues her collection of stamps around the world, this month she takes us to China and Italy. I have used the one featuring China in those card today to create a Lunar New Year card. My images here were colored with copic markers with added details with a white gel pen.
I used this polaroid shaped die from the Holiday Hugs die to frame my images. The background features a new background standalone die called Lattice Panel Die. Lunar New Year is typically in colors of gold, red, and yellow, so I have die cut the panel out of gold glitter card stock and layered it in front of the white base card.
