Waffle Flower November 2019 New Release Blog Hop + Giveaways

Wow I can’t believe it’s already November! The weather has only slightly started getting cooler in the mornings and late night here in Califonia, so I can hardly believe we’re so close to the end of the year already. Today is release day at Waffle Flower and we’ve got quite an assortment of products released this month and I’ve got a jampacked post for you as well!

I just love all of Liz Mytinger’s sets and so excited to share a project with her newest set called Winter Hamsters. There are several images in this set and I picked up the three carolers to create this clean and simple card. I stamped the images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored the images with copic markers.

Then, I used the matching dies to die cut the images out. There’s something really special about this matching die…the dies die cut out the images in groups. That means, no more little small dies per image! You’ll have to check out this post for the visual explanation, you have to see it!

The background was created with watercolors. I freehand a loose circle shape and some blue, purple, and a little black watercolor paint. Once dried, I gently splattered some white acrylic paint to create the snow look. The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto red card stock, trimmed down to a thin strip and added to the card along with the hamsters with foam tape.

My next card features a few more images from the Winter Hamsters set combined with the new Herringbone Panel Die. I created a tone on tone look by die cutting the Herringbone Panel out of dark blue card stock and underlaid it with dark blue card stock as well. Then, I added some light white paint splatter for a snowy look.

The used the Herringbone Sentiment Stamp that coordinates with the Herringbone Panel Die to add my sentiment in the center. I have heat embossed it in white and added some final embellishment with some wooden stars.

This next card showcases the new Merry Wreath Combo illustrated by Cassie Loizeaux. If you much prefer sticking to stamping and less coloring, this set is absolutely adorable and perfect for you! I used Altenew dye inks for my solid stamping. For the foxes I used Sand Dunes and Rocky Shore, and Sea Breeze and Turqouise for their scarves. The wreath and bow were stamped in Parrot, Olive, Coral Bliss, and Heart Beat colors. The images were then die cut with their matching dies.

I created some faux wood panels for the background by using the Vertical Stripes Die. This is one of those dies I never though I’d need, but I end up using it so many times in various ways! Well this time I used it to create these strips that I gently brush my kraft dye ink across and on the edges to create a distressed look. I pieced the stripes back to gether onto an A2 base card and then assembled my scene over it. The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto kraft aard stock and added with foam tape.

I saved the best for last! The last set I’m going to showcase today is the Sunflower Love Combo. This is a gorgeous set designed by Karla Jodoin. This illustrator seriously know how to create the most beautiful flowers! The images I have stamped here is a combination of two images, one with the frame and one additional portion of a larger floral arrangement. I stamped them in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers.

I used the matching dies to die cut out the images and then added just a little touch of white ink splatter for movement. I also die cut a background out of kraft card stock using the Diamond Texture Die. I added the images right in the center with foam tape.

Before I called it a day, I finished the card off with some Nuvo Mustard Gold Crystal Drops. You made it to the end of my post!
