Hey there! Today I’m sharing a cute banner I’ve made to add as decoration to my craft room! I’m always looking for cute things to add while shopping the aisles at HomeGoods or Target, but what better way to really add personality to you craft room than to make it yourself. C-R-E-A-T-E. Six letters, so six pennants, one cute banner. Let’s do this!
I first dug through my scraps to find a rainbow assortment of card stock to die cut the banner with oval die in the Build-A-Banner Pennants Creative Cuts. I then die cut the regular banner out of white card stock, and the scalloped banner topper out of kraft card stock.
On each white banner, I selected two colors to ink blend. Going through the rainbow, I picked a color adjacent to the card stock color and then the color of the card stock. For example, my yellow banner has a light pink and yellow blended, and my green banner has a yellow and green blended on it. This continued for each of the banners.
After blending, I also added a touch of paint splatter for interest and texture. I gave it a few minutes to dry and then adhered my color card stock banner with oval frames over it, and the kraft scalloped banner topper over that next.
Within each oval is a letter. This letter was die cut out of white card stock using the Whimsy Alphas Creative Cuts. I really love this alphabet die! It’s the perfect mix of clean capital letters while with a little whimsical flavor that goes well with cute projects. After die cutting each letter, I added it to the center of each pennant.
Although I totally could have stopped there, why not up the cute factor another notch and add some adorable agendas? Spring is just around the corner and this soft palette has got me inspired to bring out the Little Bunny Agenda. I stamped six of them, one for each pennant, and colored them with copic markers. I used the matching Little Bunny Agenda Creative Cuts to die cut the images out and added them to the banner with foam tape.
The last step is to string each of these pennats together to build the banner! Here I used a thin white ribbon with a silver trim and threaded it through the holes in the top of the pennant, and now I have a complete banner to hang up and decorate my craft room with. It makes me happy just looking at it! Hope today’s project inspires you to create something for yourself and added a little cute decor to your crafty space!
