Today’s edition of Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight takes another look at the Zodiac Monkey! These monkeys are just so round and cute and I have decided to showcase them in a slim card shaker card using the new Slim Card Basic dies.
I stamped up the monkeys and the bananas and colored them with copic markers. As with all the zodiac series stamp sets, the matching dies also gives you option to die cut the arms to allow for the critters to hold things, and I have used it here for the banans.
The Slim Card Basics die allows you to create this fun slim card shaker card with the stitched windows. I wanted to create a jungle-like background, so I heat embossed some greenery from Pine and Posy in white onto white card stock, ink blended and colored the leaves with Tombow brush pens. I then die cut this colored piece with the Slim Card Basics stitched frame and stitched windows.
This is one of those cards that look even more amazing in person because of all the shiny and embossing details. I die cut the frame 4 more times to create enough depth in the wells for my flat iridescent shakers. I then added a scallop frame out of light kraft card stock behind it. Each of the monkeys fit nicely in each window, and I added a sentiment in the center that I had heat embossed in white on green card stock right above the monkey.22
Hope you enjoy today’s inspiration and hope to see you back on Friday for some more Mama Elephant projects!
