Welcome back to Day 2 of the Clearly Besotted May Release Countdown Teasers! More cute critters and florals? Yes, please! These new floral corners are not just adorable, but the flowers are so beautiful too!
I stamped my images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them up with copic markers. I’ve been really into purples lately, so I made my lilies purple and carnations a magenta pink. I’ve always colored my ducks yellow, but then it suddenly crossed my mind, aren’t they brown too? So I decided to go for a subtle brownish town for them. Since Clearly Besotted do not carry coordinating dies, these were cut out using my Scan N Cut.
Often times, I like to mask off the areas I want to ink blend to get a clean one layer look, but today I decided to use an inlaid technique to achieve almost the same thing. I die cut a piece of white card stock with a small rectangle from one of my nesting dies, and ink blended it with Broken China and Shaded Lilac distress oxide inks. I used the same rectangle die out of a piece of light blue card stock to create the frame for my ink blended piece to inlay in.
The sentiment used here is from the same stamp set and I heat embossed it in platinum on white card stock. I used a stitched fishtail flag die to die cut it out and added in the bottom half of the card, tucked behind the colored images. Everything was added on with foam tape.
Isn’t the images so sweet? I just love these corners. If you love these, you should definitely get the Christmas Corners one too for the holiday! (Yup, I bought that one too!)
That’s it for today, but come back for more fun tomorrow. Tons of inspirations can also be found on the Clearly Besotted blog and team members Keren Baker and Michelle Short!
What a beautiful card, Keeway! I love the design with the inlaid panel and I adore your colour combination and colouring. So beautiful!
That’s beautiful. Your colour choices are fab- I don’t normally like purple, but you’ve created such a lovely colour scheme. Love the softness of your card x
Wow Keeway this is stunning. What a beautiful colour palette too. Gorgeous card!
Such a pretty & peaceful colour combination, love the mix of colours used. The little chick is as cute as I’ve done to expect from Clearly Besotted designs these days x
Love those cute images !
Love the floral corner designs and the adorable chick! Sweet!
Hi Keeway! Well I learn something new every day! I had to look up the Scan N Cut because I’d never heard of it before. I live a sheltered crafty life with my stamps & dies. But I love how your card turned out and the fact you go the extra mile! Such a beautiful card!
