Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Highlight: Mega Flipper

If you loved the Mama Elephant Flip Slider, you’re going to love the Mega Flipper even more! Interactive cards are always such a treat to make. Every time I finish an interactive card, I find myself playing with its mechanism nonstop!

I wanted the flip die to be used in a way that it tells a story or a message. Perhaps I was a bit craving for sushi at the time I came up with this idea, but I really do miss going out to eat with my friends! So I decided to create a little message on this card saying “hello, hope to see you soon!”

I also brought another oldie but goodie stamp set called Nom Nom Kitties. I really love this set! I stamped and colored them with copic markers, and then used the matching Creative Cuts to die cut each of the images out.

For each panel on this mega flipper, I die cut a colored card stock panel. Then I cut a smaller rectangle piece using my paper trimmer that fit on each of these scalloped panels so that I can ink blend and decorate it. On each panel, I stamped down my message by building it with the Sketchy Letters stamp set. I continued my color theme and alternated the colors for each letter.

I used all the smaller images from the stamp set to create patterns in the background. I stamped it tone on tone on the grey card stock base card and within each panel with its coordinated color. This added a fun interest and cohesive look across the card! I didn’t have one handy, but when we all be outside again, I’ll definitely be replacing the slide out piece with a gift card to a sushi restaurant before I mail it out!
