Ooohh today’s post has got me hungry just writing this up! It’s take for inspiration with the new Gingerbread Cookies set. This set is so cute and fun to work with. When I saw the set, I just knew I had to bring in Santa drooling over this plate of gingerbread cookies!
So I started by stamping and coloring my images with copic markers. Then, I used the coordinating dies to die cut each of the images out. Next, I used the FBA Santa Elf Creative Cuts to die cut my Santa. It really depends on my mood at times, but I opted to die cut all the pieces (except the yes and hands) out of white cardstock and then used distress oxides to ink blend the colors on. The hands were die cut using the piece from FBA Fox Creative Cuts, but it’s really easy to cut out freehand or use any random roundish die that you have in your stash.
The background sets the placement of everything, so I used some post-its to divide it up so that part of it looked more like a table. The top half, I went for a nice icey background and also decided to stencil on some snowflakes for interest. The background was die cut with a large stitched rectangle from Peek a Frame CC.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Gingerbread Cookies set onto a scrap piece of kraft card stock and used a small rectangle die to die cut it out. It would have been an easy trim, but I just love the die cut edges…little details!
