If you’ve ever visited a Chinese or Japanese restaurant or supermarket, you may have spotted a Lucky Cat before! Lucky cat charms or figurines are popular and are meant to attract good luck and fortune for its owners. For a short period in my younger years, I loved collecting cute lucky cat everything from plushies to coin banks. I just always found them so cute and who doesn’t love having luck on their side? Needless to say, I was very excited to see this new set from Mama Elephant, so let’s check out today’s inspiration with this set!

I stamped and colored several of the lucky cat images. The chubby style is very similar to that of the Zodiac animal sets that were released earlier in the year and they just make these lucky cats absolutely adorable! I colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating dies to die cut each of them out.

I absolutely love the intricate oriental lattice die cuts from the Money Envelope CC. I used the skinny rectangle one three times as backdrops for each of my cats. To compliment my coloring, I also ink blended a background panel with Everygreen Bough, Lucky Clover, and Mowed Lawn distress oxide colors and die cut it with the stitched rectangle from Basic Set CC.

I needed a sentiment a little larger than what the Lucky Cat stamp set had to offer, so partially built my own using the Letter Board CC and spelled out the words ‘so lucky’ by die cutting the letters in a gold mirror card stock. I heat embossed part of the sentiment from the Lucky Cat stamp set in white on red cardstock, which sits just below the larger gold letters.
I finished the card with a red cardstock back panel that was die cut with the large stitched rectangle from Peek a Frame CC just to give that extra stitching detailing to complete the card! The strong colors really came out beautifully and I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration as much as I enjoyed making it. Well folks, this is going to be my last post of 2020 as I will be taking some time off from crafting for the holidays, but I look very much forward to the new year cause seriously, we all need it am I right? Haha! Have an incredible holiday season and a happy new year!!!!!
