Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Koala Hugs

Koalas are such sweet and gentle creatures. I would want to be a koala or a panda in my second life, calm, lazy and just happy sleeping and eating every day…what a life! Today I’m sharing a card featuring the Mama Elephant Koala Hugs stamp set illustrated by Aida Zamora.

I started by stamping the images and coloring them up with copic markers. I always love adding the sweet pink blush to my critters to add that extra cuteness factor. I then used the Koala Hugs Creative Cuts to die cut each of the individual images out. (Oh and if you didn’t know, the Koala Hugs Creative Cuts are on sale for 25% off!)

Next I thought about how I wanted to bring these sweet koalas together in a scene. I had some hanging from branches and some sitting down, so I thought it would be good to work with a frame. That’s where I decided to use the Rolling Waves Cover Creative Cuts to help me set this scene. I die cut this frame out of white card stock, mask off the frame around it to ink blending the rolling hills area. I needed a bit more aerial space for the koalas on branches so I trimmed off a few layers of the rolling hills with scissors.

I decided to also die cut a circle out of yellow circle to add a sun to my scene. I was going for a warm afternoon nap kind of feel, so I ink blended Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, and Antique Linen for the background. I heat embossed my sentiment from the Koala Hugs stamp set in silver and then added the frame to my background over foam tape. I added my koalas and finished up the card with a few iridescent sequins.
